Julie Stones

Graduating from University of York with a degree in Linguistics and Education, Julie first worked at The Government Communications Headquarters in Cheltenham where her pool of languages increased to 5. She then moved to Hong Kong for a number of years where she got involved in charity work and found that working with children and young people in particular was rewarding and inspiring.

A change of career on her return to the UK took Julie into Kent County Council, one of the largest local authorities in the country. After 13 years in senior management, Julie took the opportunity to move into the charitable sector as a consultant working with multiple charities and bidding and leading on some large commissioned services including an emotional well-being service for all young people in Kent, parenting programmes, NEET, youth provision, breastfeeding campaign, maternal mental health campaign, community budgeting and Talent Match.

Julie has been brought in to lead the development of Mindfulness for the children’s workforce in Kent, working with schools, voluntary and community sector, HeadStart Kent and the local authority. Julie has contributed to the successful bidding on 3 projects in Kent.

Julie enjoys spending time with her four grown-up children, friends, two dogs and travelling abroad at every opportunity.
